OPTIONAL Monday Training

AFOSI will conduct a class on Monday, July 15, 2019.  Group size is limited to the first 30 registrations.

Description: Cognitive Interviewing

This course will provide attendees an overview of the techniques and science of Cognitive Interviewing. Cognitive Interviewing (CI) has evolved to be an effective strategic interview tool. The Cognitive Interview (CI) is an empirically-based interview technique that has been shown to effectively increase the quantity and quality of information obtained from interviewees in criminal and counterintelligence investigations. This presentation will provide an orientation to the CI, its underlying principles, and provide recommendations on how to incorporate the CI into an Investigative Interview model.  Videos and case examples will be provided to illustrate the underlying principles of the CI, and to highlight the effectiveness of the CI in the overall interview strategy.
